I teach a Bible study to a group of children on Monday nights and they are the neatest bunch of kids I have ever met (besides my relatives of course). We are currently doing a study about Moses, and this week we talked about the 10 commandments.

It is great to see how each week they are able to pick up a verse and memorize it. The mind of a child is so underrated. I am amazed on some level each week how they handle things in an adult-like fashion. They do well with rules, and with proper guidance, keep the silliness to a minimum during learning time. Some of them have the most inspiring spiritual answers to various questions as well. As adults we tend to think about things in a certain way, but children have this clarity of mind that cuts right through all of the noise and submits to you a gem of information.

Weekly, one of the adults can be heard saying:

“I never thought about it like that”

And it is true, we are stuck in our grown-up way of thinking about things, we forget that children are sometimes able to provide us with insight we never thought possible.

And for that, I am thankful.
