What is the best way to respond to strange events?

Ginger can attest to this – sometimes the only thing to do when a tremendously awkward and strange event happens is to order everyone a round of tequila.

LOTS of deep breaths, and wine if it’s available.

Strange events break up monotony, so they aren’t all bad. Sometimes I just go with it.

However, if they are strange such as today, I drink a lot of coffee and talk a lot because I can’t really focus on anything else. I hate not being in-the-know. Bugs the hell outta me.

Strange events, such as the one we experienced yesterday, are the things that make me seem like an insensitive jerk. Because I take everything in stride. There are some things that are just out of our hands and we may never know the why or how. But I’m OK with this.

But I will gladly share tequila and wine anyway.

It’s all about perspective. I usually pretend nothing is happening. When things are really tough, it’s fruitless to react emotionally. My head is a very safe place.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss my neighbor 😦

I think it’s best to talk about strange events when they occur. Talking things out gives me a better sense of understanding, and that makes me feel like I’m not spinning out of control in a chaotic universe. Even though I am.

Unfortunately, in the situations like this one, usually no one is talking.

Well, I talk a lot to find out what happened. I’m a paranoid person, and I don’t want the same thing to happen to me. So, I talk a lot to try and reason out why it happened…I would drink a lot of coffee, Nat, but it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth after one cup. 🙂 But, the wine…Yum!

I think it’s been over a year since I’ve had wine. Oh, how I miss it so.

I prefer to just get things out in the open. So everyone can deal with it and move on. I don’t like to dwell on things. Forget the wine and I can’t do tequila..(anymore) bring on the beer!
Now that sounds bad like I am cheering or celebrating which I am not. See what this stuff does to people!

It’s ok Marlo. We all know beer isn’t just a celebratory beverage. It is also a way to drown your sorrows, or just to unwind after a long day.

Or to cool off in this heat.

      • enochfreeman said,

Or to keep warm on a cold winter’s night.

I crack really, really bad jokes, like what would happen if you gave Saturn a bath?

It would leave a ring in the tub.
