Question of the Day:

What is the best arcade game you have ever played?

A fellow HP fanatic and I took the Katie’s to see the midnight veiwing of HP-HBP. It was fantastic! Loved every second… and wished it was an hour or more longer. I NEVER go to the theater and I think I may have to go see this one a second time on the big screen.

The only arcade game I was any good at (other than pinball) was Pac Man. I got the plug into the TV Pac Man for my 30th b-day and still love it.

I think Gauntlet – the four-person arcade Gauntlet – is my favorite, because it’s such a communal experience. I always enjoy playing Tron except when it comes to the tanks. I suck at the tanks!

Galaga was always my favorite. I also really liked pinball, especially Tales from the Crypt pinball. Totally rad!

    Centipede. Best. Arcade. Game. Ever!

There’s an arcade/skating rink in town that my sisters sometimes have their kids’ birthdays at, and they have Centipede. Whenever we do a birthday party at the arcade, I bring $10 and put it all into Centipede.

Pinball for sure. There are a ton of REALLY vintage pinball machines at the City Museum in STL-I won and Dan had to buy dinner!
I kinda like skee ball and air hockey too-those count right?

  6. Marlo Miller said,

    Yes HP-6 was awesome!
I would have to say without a doubt it has to be Galaga. I also enjoyed Mrs. Pac Man I played that alot at the skating rink growing up. Dig-dug was another good one.

Killer Instinct will always have a place in my heart. It’s funny because it’s so dated now, but at the time it was awesome. ULTRA COMBO!

I think the Harry Potter franchise is getting old to me.

    Time to unfurl the geek:

    1. Double Dragon – better than skating at SkateLand
    2. Cruisin’ Racing Series (USA, World, etc) – wackiest racing game ever
    3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Best action game ever
    4. Mortal Kombat – FINISH HIM
    5. Big Buck Hunter Pro – Best bar game shooter evar

I have this other game on my mind where it was a top-down, bottom facing up airplane shooter that had some sweet power up. About half of these I played as a kid and the other was a the student union at K-State. Buck Hunter still rocks today but I’m anxious to see the update to the Bags/Darts Pro game. Looks like fun. Jaywalker’s anybody?
