The hubby…definitely. He’s amazing in every way! And Nick…because he’s my adorable little mini-me!

This could become a long list…I’ll try to keep it short, though. 🙂 Tim – for giving me love and a friendship that I’ve never had before, Kael – because he’s the light of my life and has shown me that I can love in a way I never knew possible, Melnik – for your laughter and encouraging words, Nat – for helping me keep my head on straight (and lots of other stuff too!). 🙂 My parents, my niece and nephews…This list could just continue going and going….We’ll stop there, though!!

Dude. Could you ask a more general question?

Anyway, I’ll stick with the most recent big change. Yesterday, one of the directors at the Y asked Leann and I to teach an abs class. Huge blessing. It doesn’t pay much (at all!), but it lit a fire of motivation under me that is hard to explain. It’s just what I needed and I pray that the motivation toward self-discipline sticks.

Katie. My smart, beautiful, attitude filled, 125% honest, opinionated, loving, tween. She doesn’t hesitate to talk to me when she doesn’t know something or wants more information. She’s still at an age that we’re friends and can talk about about anything (some things I wish I could ignore, but won’t cut that open communication). She’s supportive of me in what I do and will tell me if I’m straying from my goals. All in all, she is my life and I don’t know what I’d do without her. I’d be a different (and worse) person without her. I know she’s not perfect (by ANY stretch of the imagination)… but that’s ok, b/c nobody is.

Everyone I choose to keep in my life! My friends and relationships are very important to me.

If I had to name one person, I’d mention my friend Reggie. He is my mom’s age or older, and he has gained a lot of wisdom and perspective, which he shares liberally, in his life. He’s like a big shining light!

I would have to say my wife and kids. I know it’s more than one person, but they are all blessings to me.

You didn’t say they had to living still. Right now it is of course my best friend and husband Roland, my beautiful, smart, energetic daughters. But someone who has been a major blessing to me in developing the person I am today is my Grandma Vi (Viola) she died in the spring of 99 when Maddie was still a baby. She lived to be 98 years old, never learned to drive a car, she walked everywhere and was in excellent health. I stayed with her a lot as a kid and she taught me about love for myself and the love of god. She treated everyone the same, she was never materialistic and she enjoyed simple pleasures like sitting outside to visit on a nice day. She also made the best hamburger (wheat bun, red onion, mustard, pickle, and american cheese) to this day my family calls it the “Grandma Vi” burger. She was a special lady and I miss her still.

Amanda, my family. But also the unexpected help from and kindness of strangers.
