A black widow spider…. JJ – HATE spiders. Have to be a LadyBug since that’s what my mom’s called me for as long as i can remember.

awe, my childhood nickname was junebug (middle name is june)! i don’t think i’d wanna BE one tho. when i was a kid i used to tie a string to their legs and treat them like kites… if reincarnation exists i’ll probably come back as a junebug to pay for my cruelty to them!

I once read an article in which a biologist said if you are into reincarnation, don’t come back as an insect. Apparently most of them die from having some other species of insect’s parasitic larvae – that’s like, half the size of their entire body – growing inside of them. So I don’t really want to be an insect at all.

I’m sure this happens to this part of the bug world as well, but if I had to be a bug, I’d be an arachnid, like a spider or a scorpion. They have venom, and some of them have armor, so maybe it’s slightly less likely that they’ll die from giant parasites.

    • amber said,

yeah, but they EAT other bugs, so maybe that means they’re most likely to have the parasites?
      btw shannon, EWE!

They don’t get the parasites from eating other bugs. It’s from certain species of bugs that lay their eggs IN other creatures. Kind of like the movie Alien.

I’d have to say I’d like to be a dung beetle. No matter how crappy of a day you have, it’s still a good day. Actually, the more crap in a day, the better.
