I always give my brother a hard time because he used to collect milk caps. And he will swear up and down I am making this up, but he used to have “milk cap club” meetings where he’d just gather his milk caps and talk to them. This is a direct quote:

“This meeting of the Milk Cap Club will now come to order.”

    lol kelly, that’s great.
i can’t think of anything weird anyone collects…my cousin used to collect old phones and phone parts i guess-then he gave them all to dan, and dan rebuilt them, and we ended up with three antique but functioning phones in the house. BRRRRRING BBBRRING…yip yip yip yip (that kinda phone)
dunno if that’s weird or not. it’s certainly no Milk Cap Club…

i played a lame but silently hilarious prank on my sister for years, and bought her hippos for every gift occasion, pretending that i thought she liked and collected them. it kinda freaked her out, and she kept asking my mom why i was buying her hippos, but mom was in on the prank (of course) so she just egged it on.

sadly, she caught on before i got to give her the giant inflatable yard hippo…

I have a cousin on my dad’s side (meaning one I don’t really talk to) who collects owls and owl stuff. I always thought that was kind of odd.

Oh…my stepmom collects Native American stuff…like obsessively. Seriously, it’s like the whole Cherokee tribe just exploded in their house. She’s not even Native American…at least no more than I am. It’s a bit much.

my grandma collected bird stuff-she had owls, roosters, etc, but red birds were her favorite.
i always kinda liked the owls the best! she used to tell a scary story that included some hoo hooo owl sounds when i was little. ha.

that’s where i got the idea for the hippo prank, someone just randomly started giving dan’s mom owl stuff when he was a kid. she didn’t collect it, but she ended up with a collection cause of the owl giftings!

I’m related to a few people who collect things, but none of it is exceptionally weird. My grandfather collected Alabama football and Bear Bryant memorabilia, but that is completely normal in the state of Alabama. My uncle collects Star Trek stuff, but that’s pretty normal too, and I certainly can’t criticize considering that I attend sci-fi conventions.

I used to know a woman who collects Elvis and Xena Warrior Princess stuff, and that’s a pretty weird combo. I also had a teacher who was certified as having the largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia in the state of Alabama.
