    Take on me!

Did you know A-ha has something like 9 albums? Crazy.

I haven’t watched any music videos in what seems like forever. Take on Me is definitely a good one. Though, now it makes me think of Family Guy…which isn’t a bad thing. 🙂

Sledgehammer! I remember seeing that video once when I was in high school, back when they still showed videos on MTV. I don’t even remember much about the song or the video, but I remember thinking it was the most creative video I had ever seen.

    • Enoch said,

omg. I’ve been trying to find this song on youtube and lala. It must be one of the most covered songs of all time!

Hurt by Johnny Cash (tho it sometimes makes me cry), I Don’t Wanna Grow Up by Tom Waits cause it’s crazy, and Sober by Pink.

Shannon has turned me on to a couple of really cool ones by Lady Gaga and Amanda Palmer as well, but I can’t remember the names of the songs.

    • Shannon said,

Bad Romance is probably the Lady Gaga video I showed you, because it’s my favorite of hers. The video for What’s the Use of Wondrin’ is my favorite by Amanda Palmer because it made me like the song more, but Leeds United is also awesome.

Of course, I recommend all Amanda Palmer videos to everyone just because more people should know who she is.

looked it up, it was leeds united.

    She Bop by Cyndi Lauper.

We got MTV when I was in middle school, and this is also the time in my life when I started listening to pop and rock music. I think that’s the perfect age to discover Cyndi Lauper. I didn’t know what punk or new wave was, and so I thought all pop stars were supposed to look like Cyndi Lauper. I know I wanted to look like her. I still think of She’s So Unusual as one of the best albums of my lifetime.

I think my love of Cyndi Lauper as a kid is one of the reasons why I like Lady Gaga, and why I am confused when people grumble about how weird Lady Gaga is. Of course she’s weird! She’s a pop star! Who wants to watch a pop star who dresses like everyone you see at work, in the mall, or at the bar (unless your bar has a drag show)?

hmmm, there’s an artswalk downtown this friday night, and I think there’s a drag show too-great place to check out more art!
