Quilts, blankies and afghans! Oh My!

September 8, 2010 at 8:31 pm (Uncategorized)

I wanted to post pictures of all the fantastic quilts and blankets that family and friends made for Emmeline! She has quite an eclectic collection, and I love each and every one of them. Do you have a favorite?

The Farm quilt made by my Aunt Jean!

I think the pig is my favorite!

The Sun Bonnet Sue made by Betty Marlin

The Nesting Doll Quilt made by Sarah Kerner

It wasn’t all made out of the nesting doll material, but I thought that pattern was so unusual.

The Pink Lady made by Linda Haglund

The Fox made by Julie Fox

Big Baby Bear made by Janet Fox

The Cat and the Fiddle made by Ruth Snider

She hand painted this part!

Mr. Softie given by Jerri Neely

Question of the Day 9/3/2010

September 3, 2010 at 7:57 am (Uncategorized)

I was just thinking…

I don't want to make this a habit or anything, but I am currently listening to Lover, You Should Come Over by Jeff Buckley and was thinking about which single song defines a decade for you. Any decade really. Something about Jeff Buckley just screams out about the purity of some hidden gems in '90s music. Every decade has its list of garbage throw away pop, but sometimes there is a song that just sticks out in your mind that makes the mediocrity fade away.

What song is that for you? What decade does it define?
