On this day in 1976 – “Disco Duck” by Rick Dees and His Cast of Idiots received a gold record. The song became only the fourth single to be certified platinum in December of 1976.

We only use checks to pay Kassie, our daycare provider. And we have pretty Disney Princesses on ours. 🙂 Tim looks really cool when he has to write Kassie a check. *wink*

I write about 3 checks a month, and I have the plain old bank design that’s free. This customized checks can be hard for check scanners to read!

We use them to pay our childcare provider, but I think that’s it. And, I know this will totally shock people, our background is…cats.

I’m like the other parents here. I only use checks to pay my daycare provider, Verna. The background on my checks are the American flag with an eagle and the Statue of Liberty.

I use checks for about half of my bills. Whether I write a check is based on how difficult they make it to pay online. I use the plain cheap standard bank checks.
While I don’t have images on my checks, I do get interesting stamps. I like that it doesn’t matter what is on the stamp – all first class mail stamps cost the same. I have stamps with The Simpsons on them right now.

I have polka dots and swirls on my spending account checks and Dr Seuss on my bill account checks…
I write checks to the guy Dan hires to mow the lawn, and to the exterminator Dan hires to spray our house, or other random things like that. I also pay my “hippiopath” nutritionist and acupuncturist with checks when I buy my thyroid medicine or get a treatment.
I only have a couple of books of the pretty ones left, and when they run out I’ll go for the freebie blanks from the bank.

I still use checks to pay probably 1/4 of my bills. I had Wizard of Oz ones, but now I just use the plain cheap-o ones from the bank.
