My girlfriend. Just being honest. She’s great and I sometimes forget to tell her that. So I’ve been trying to do that more lately in unexpected ways.

Probably my dad…just him being there. My mom was always the sick one and dad was most always the healthy one. Whenever he did have health problems, they were fixed relatively easily and he always got better quickly. For the past 20 years he hasn’t had any serious health problems at all. He’ll be 62 in July, though, and I rationally know it’s just a matter of time before he’ll start getting old…but I just don’t think about it…if that makes any sense. It just seems like he’ll always be there.

My job probably. There are so many people out there with either no job or those working a really crappy job they can’t stand. I really really like mine, and I think I take it for granted sometimes.
I also think I take for granted that my friends will always be available to hang out, though many of them are starting to have kids which makes that very tough.

I sort of take my mom for granted–as in I always know she is always available for support and an encouraging word. She is a super great mom, and sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have her!

The way God has protected and provided for me. Without Him working on my behalf I would be dead in my sins.

Freedom of speech, and freedom of (or from) religion. If I lived in China, or even Canada, someone else could decide what it was ok for me to see, hear, or read. If I were alive several centuries ago, being a willing, non-critical member of the church of my community would be mandatory. I definitely take these freedoms for granted.

I take for granted the fact that I’ve known 2 great-grandmothers, 2 great-grandfathers and both sets of grandparents. I have the best family in the world and I don’t tell them often enough how important they are to me. “Busy” is not an excuse, but I use it a lot more than I should.

Being healthy (aka, NOT having strep throat. ugh), and warm, sunny weather.
Also, my grandma – I don’t visit her often enough.
